2016 Kids Safety Day

Ellisville Police is joining forces with other emergency responders and city businesses to provide assistance in keeping area children safe. The event will be held on the parking lot of St. John Church located at 15800 Manchester Road on Saturday, October 1, 2016 from 10 am to 2 pm. The event will feature FREE child’s car seat inspections and bicycle/helmet inspections.  Trained certified car seat technicians will be available to check car seats for safety. The technicians will teach parents how to properly install the car seat and how to safely restrain the child. Besides the car seat inspections, children can bring in their existing safety helmet for inspection and fitting by a certified tech. They also can inspect bicycles for safety and correct fitting. A very limited amount of free helmets will be available to residents who cannot afford them.

Parents will be able to pick up information on other child safety issues such as bicycle safety issues, sun safety, backpack safety, child ID/fingerprinting, Internet safety, missing children information, eating healthy information and much more.

Ellisville Police Department along with other neighboring police and fire departments will display emergency equipment and have police officers and fire fighters on hand to answer any questions. Demonstrations will be conducted including police K9. Free refreshments of hotdogs, soda, water, pizza, popcorn and much more will be available along with free carnival games and prizes for the children. Raffles will be drawn for gift certificates donated by area businesses. Kids will also have a chance to win other prizes donated by the Ellisville Police department. Ronald McDonald will also be there so please come join us for a fun time.
